Dedication
To the woman who first bore me
And gave me life, I thank thee
To the woman who first touched my heart
And gave me a son, even though we did part
To the woman who first touched my mind
So our kindred spirits were two of a kind
To the woman whose anger around me whirls
Though she has born us two beautiful girls
And to all the women I met on the way
For my soul perhaps one day you will pray
Deserving nought, nor asking ought
Only to be remembered in kindly thought
For though heartache and pain I may have caused
When it came to my turn, it never paused
Yet when lost, and wandering through my own obsession
Embattled by failure, contempt and derision
The wonderous rapture of womankind
Helped me, my own direction to find
And though that divine finger points from above
Sought I only to capture the memory of lost love
My trial is not by brimstone or burning fire
But by neglect, that other instrument of ire
And though in oblivion I may dwell
I will still say, I loved these women well
For if reflecting mirrors in our mind’s eye keep
Images of beauty which can make us weep
How then the temporal body appears corrupt
Causing some in fitting anger to erupt
For if our unformed thoughts are of beauty maternal
Are not our mature thoughts of beauty eternal ?

Disclaimer

This book is a work of Fiction! Arcadia, as used here, is not so much the ancient country peopled by Greek myths, but the fabulous country of the imagination.

Though there may be references to certain ancient beliefs and customs, the author would like to stress that any similarity to any actual manner, custom, belief, religion, practice or persons alive or dead is unintentional and no adverse inference to current or past traditions should be drawn.

In the view of the prevailing climate of political correctness and the depiction of nudity in this book, I hope a degree of artistic license will be accorded to the author who is also a fictional character.
